1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using MyKoreanTeacher ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Services

MyKoreanTeacher is an online platform that connects Korean language learners with qualified Korean teachers for 1-on-1 online lessons. We facilitate the booking and payment process but are not responsible for the actual instruction provided by teachers.

3. User Accounts

To use our services, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old or have parental/guardian consent
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. Payment & Refund Policy

4.1 Payment: All payments are processed securely through our payment provider. Prices are displayed in the currency indicated on the platform.

4.2 No Refunds: All lesson purchases are final. We do not offer refunds for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Change of mind
  • Missed lessons due to student's unavailability
  • Technical issues on the student's end
  • Dissatisfaction with teaching style

4.3 Lesson Rescheduling: While refunds are not available, students may reschedule their lesson date/time up to 24 hours before the scheduled lesson start time. Rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the lesson will not be accepted, and the lesson will be considered completed.

5. Teacher Payments & Settlements

5.1 Settlement Schedule: Teacher earnings are settled every Monday (Sydney, Australia time - AEST/AEDT).

5.2 Settlement Period: Settlements include all completed lessons from the previous week (Monday to Sunday).

5.3 Payment Processing: Payments are typically processed within 1-3 business days after the settlement date.

5.4 Platform Fee: MyKoreanTeacher deducts a platform service fee from each lesson payment. The current fee structure is communicated to teachers upon registration.

6. Lesson Policies

6.1 Scheduling: Lessons must be booked through the platform. Direct arrangements outside the platform are not covered by these terms.

6.2 Rescheduling: Students may reschedule lessons up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time at no additional cost.

6.3 No-Shows: If a student fails to attend a scheduled lesson without prior rescheduling, the lesson will be marked as completed and no refund or credit will be provided.

6.4 Teacher No-Shows: If a teacher fails to attend a scheduled lesson, the student will receive a credit for a replacement lesson.

7. Code of Conduct

All users must:

  • Treat all users with respect and professionalism
  • Not engage in harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior
  • Not share inappropriate or offensive content
  • Not use the platform for any illegal purposes
  • Not attempt to circumvent platform fees by arranging lessons outside the platform

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the platform, including logos, text, graphics, and software, is the property of MyKoreanTeacher or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Lesson materials provided by teachers remain the intellectual property of the respective teachers.

9. Limitation of Liability

MyKoreanTeacher is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the services in question.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the platform will immediately cease.

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
